Smart Adeyemi’s 3rd term ambition suffers setback …Stoned in Mopa by PDP loyalists

The crises rocking the PDP in Kogi West took a new dimension weekend as the campaign train of Smart Adeyemi was not allowed to inaugurate his campaign team for Mopamuro local government. The inauguration which was scheduled to hold in Mopa on Saturday could not as irate youths and other indigenes of the area were hurling stones and other missiles on the few who had gathered at the venue.
A PDP chieftain from the area revealed to WVP that the people of the area has vowed to work against the 3rd term ambition of Senator Smart Adeyemi and that they will instead be working for the vibrant candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) Otunba Dino Melaye and Hon Sam Aro.
Investigations by our reporters revealed that leaders of PDP in Kogi West have long distanced themselves from Sen. Smart Adeyemi over his decision not to honour the 2 terms pact.
It will be recalled that during the primary for the senatorial candidate the leaders, headed by Senator Tunde Ogbeha unanimously adopted Hon. TJ Faniyi as the consensus candidate of the party.
However, WVP gathered that, the Presidency and PDP National headquarter skewed the process in favour of Sen. Smart Adeyemi.
Another twist introduced into the drama indicates that supporters of one of the House of Representative candidate of the PDP have fingered Senator Smart Adeyemi has working for the Labour Candidate an allegation he has yet to refute. Our investigations revealed that Adeyemi’s refusal to either refute or confirm the allegation has succeeded in tearing the party apart in Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency.
“We have made up our mind to also work against him. You can see that he is becoming unpopular by the hour so it won’t cost us much. He is already loosing, the people are fed up with him but he keep trying to force himself on us. We are going to resist him with everything we have.” one of the party chieftain who pleaded anonymity told our reporter.
In the meantime, youths organizations across Kogi West have lauded the candidature of Otunba Dino Melaye for the senatorial district. Leader of one of the groups, Hon. Niyi Ejibunu told news men in Lokoja that Dino's anti corruption records and activism in the country would greatly attract developments to Kogi West. He call on the youths to vote massively for him in the reschedule March 28 general elections.
