All is now set for this year’s edition of Ijakadi loro Offa festival, holding in offa between 26th and 29th December, 2013.
Atatement jointly signed by the chairman Main organizing Committee of the 2013 Ijakadi festival, Professor O. S. Adegboye and the chairman, Publicity sub-committee, Prince Ademola Ajibade said the festival will kick-off on Thursday, December 26, 2013 with a Town Hall meeting at the ODU Hall, Offa beginning at 10.00 a.m.
The statement added that activities lined up for Friday, December 27, 2013 will include prayer, Anauno Food Expo, Offa Health Submit, Jumat service, Omosunwon and Ijala Ene Ode.
The program will continue on Saturday, December 25, 2013 with Iwode Onilejile, Ijakadi Bout final, cutting of yam, (Laare) musical concert for both old and young, Ijakadi Youth Night and presentation of prizes to winners of all the events.
The programme will be rounded off on Saturday, December 29, 2013 with charged thanksgiving service at Iyeru-Okin African Church, Offa at 10.00a.m. and an annual dinner at ODU Hall, Offa at 7.00 p.m..
The 2013 Ijakadi Loro Offa festival is organized by the Offa Descendants’ Hall, (ODU).
Meanwhile, this year’s annual conference of Offa Descendants’ Union ODU will hold at the ODU Hall, Offa on the 30th and 31st December, 2013 beginning at 10.00 a.m. each day.
A statement by the secretary general of the union, Chief Mrs Wosilat Tinuke Macarthy said the conference will be presided over by the National President of the Union, Chief (Alhaji) Hamzat Adetunji Adedeji while delegates from the 65 branches of the union in Nigeria and in the diaspora are being expected.
